God this makes me feel old.

Not because I was around in '59 when the song first came out. Oh, lord no. I'm not THAT old. But I was around in the 90's when they did basically this exact same thing on Tiny Toons Adventures, except the jokes were funnier and there was a whole lot more going on.

Don't get me wrong, you brought a little something all your own to the equation, and it was pretty well done for a Flash music video, especially the direction and cinematography. I just can't help but compare it to the Tiny Toons version, which hit all the same points, and then some.

eddsworld responds:

Yes the Tiny Toons version greatly inspired mine, and it proberly shows, but i just wanted to try and animate my own version.

WTT?

So, like... is this supposed to be a monthly holiday or what? Because, I mean, you made it up a month ago. Was that the first Censorship Day, or is this? How the shell is everyone going to clap out a bunch of city Flashes for Censorship Hay if we don't even know what trucking day it's on? Also, the whole idea sounds pretty hay.

kinggila responds:

It's just an annual (or possibly one-time only) event just like Valentine's Day and Talk Like a Pirate Day. But yes, the idea is pretty hay. XP

LOL! Accents!

"The one who could pull out the curse word..." heh heh. Classic. XD

Animation was great, too. You have a nice sloppy wacom style. Kinda reminds me of Bonus Stage in a way. I can't wait to see where this series goes from here.

Darkar responds:

I LOOOVE Bonus stage... I am somehow inspired by that series. And yep... I use a Wacom.

Very good, for a stick animation.

You do a good job of making the sticks expressive, and you show a good grasp of physics. There wasn't a story, and there wasn't really anything unexpected in terms of action, but there was a certian ammount of personality in these sticks.

There's a lot of subtle movements and such that convey a sense of understated annoyance by the sticks towards the falling barrels. They almost shrug every time someone bites it. I could even see this as a metaphor for school or work or whatever. So, it works on an artistic level.

Great pacing and you manage to actually animate during the bulk of the song and have the good sense to cut it off, rather than showing 30 seconds of animation followed by 2 minutes and 30 seconds of credits.

th1rt3en responds:

Nope, no metaphor, but you are correct in me putting in some type of personality for the stick figures. I pretty much go for a "they don't know what's really happening, but they accept it and run with it", if that even makes sense.

Thanks for the great review.

Another great episode... when I first saw it.

Seriously, didn't you already release this episode? I've seen it before, and I'm pretty sure I saw it at Newgrounds, so what's it doing on the "new submissions" list?

I'm really looking forward to GTL. Can't wait to see what you do unplugged.

RubberNinja responds:

Nope, this is its first time on NG. You probably saw it on the site.

My honest imprerssion of the Corey series, part 4:

...much too...

STAY TOONED!

dnzTV responds:

haha I GET THE POINT okay :D

"Punk" does not equal "not trying."

Okay, so you start off with one drawing of a girl, which is okay. But then you barely move any part of her at all. That's cheap. And sad. I don't know a lot about the whole Riot Grrrl movement, but I'm guessing punk dancers in a mosh pit or music video probably jump around a little bit whne doing their thing.

The middle of the video seemed more promising, with lots of crazy imagery. Sure, it was mostly simple motion tweening, but it showed some inspiration, and presumably it took some effort to draw all that stuff. (I'm assuming you drew it on paper and scanned it, and not that you merely scanned a CD jacket or downloaded those sketches from the band's website.)

You even managed to work the feminist angle in there with the thing sprouting from the man's neck that looked like it was gonna be another flower, but then it turned out to be a fetus. I thought that was pretty deep, for a music video. Kinda metaphorical.

But then you had to go and ruin it the way Newgrounds noobs always do, by quitting 1/3 of the way through the song. What the fuck is wrong with you? Did you suddenly run out of angst? This music video was a good idea, implemented with challenging imagery, but then you fucking quit. Nobody likes a fucking quitter. Finish the damn thing, you fucking loser.

When's the last time you saw a punk video where a bunch of kids at the mall rose up, cast off the shackles of the man, smashed up their jobs, and then took to the streets to stop the big CEO's monolithic corporate office, only to get bored halfway there and disperse peacefully? Because that's what you did by quitting this project before it was finished. You went "FUCK THE MAN! Ehhh, you know what, never mind."

You can do better. Now get off your ass and finish it! :D

McGovern responds:

I will finish it. I just started flash animation, like, two days ago.

Even more incomprehensible than he next one.

I watched part 2, then travelled back in time to watch part 1, thinking maybe somehow it would make part 2 make morse sense. But now I'm more confused than ever. I think I'm going to suspend mu disbelief at this point, so my disbelief can go home and have a good lie down. Cheers.

BritishMoose responds:

Yeah, I'm not really going for the whole 'comprehensive story line and character development' thing with this project :)
Get well soon!

Code by a man of called Moorse for review random humor.

Just kidding. :P

Seriously, get a gaijin to write the description for you, next time. And get rid of the canned laughter. (It reminds me of TV shows for old people, which makes me sad.)

MATSUMO responds:

Thank you very much for advice. Because I am a Japanese, is not so good at English; (read with a translation tool). Therefore I am your "Code by a man of called Moorse for review random humor. "
"Just kidding. :P"
I did not understand meanings well. Will you teach it in detail?
The laughter to come out in this picture is parody for the old comedy. So I insert it intentionally.
